1 – Detailed description

The Mosque is built on a site of about 7,500 m². Height of the minaret 65 m. Capacity: 6,500 worshippers (3,500 on the esplanade and 3,000 in the prayer hall).
The Mosque has several facilities spread over 4 levels:

10 administrative offices
9 offices for Muslim associations
6 shops
1 parking space for 150 vehicles

1 ablutions area for women
1 ablutions area for men
1 accommodation for the Imam (600 m²)
1 conference room (300 seats)
1 library

1 prayer hall
1 office for the Imam
1 private prayer room for the Imam
1 private ablutions area for the Imam
1 mortuary room
1 esplanade of 3,000 m² (3,500 places)

1 mezzanine for women (500 places)

4-1 – The Fundraising and Supervising Committee for the Completion of the Work on the Mosque of Plateau
(Le Comité de Recherche de Financement et de Suivi des Travaux d’Achèvement de la Mosquée du Plateau)


- Raise funds necessary for the completion of the work
- Undertake expenditure
- Supervise the execution of the work

The Committee is chaired by Mr Feh KESSE.

4-2 – The National Bureau of Technical Studies and Development
(Le Bureau National des Etudes techniques et de développement - BNETD)


- Conduct technical studies
- Direct and control the work

BNETD is managed by Mr KRA Koffi Pascal.


5 – Summary of progress and cost of work executed

5.1- Progress of work executed

- March 1996: Work starts
- December 1999: Work stops due to shortage of financial resources
- 2nd semester of 2007: Work resumes partially
Percentage of work completed: 65%.

5.2- Cost of work executed

Total cost of the work from 1996 to 2007: CFA8.76 billion (US $17.52 million)
- State of Côte d’Ivoire: CFA5 billion (US $10 million)
- Donors: CFA3.76 billion (US $7.52 million)
